At Development Services, I managed Board of Adjustment cases for zoning variance requests. I was the primary point of contact for people seeking zoning variances and guided them through the application process, helped them prepare for the meeting, drafted reports for the board and presented the cases in front of the public. In this role, I also answered zoning questions at the customer service counter and researched zoning history requests.

I worked in the Recruitment division of Human Resources for the City of San Antonio, which exposed me to a wide range of opportunities across the city and gave me a big-picture view of how city government operates. In this role, I was the point of contact for new city employees. I gave out job offers, guided people through processing, and answered questions people had before beginning their position. I served as a liaison between department HR representatives and new city employees.

At Centro, I created a downtown development map tracking 200+ retail and residential developments across the downtown public improvement district. I also gathered list of business owners in San Antonio, researched cities who have transformed into more residential downtowns and tracked data for new placemaking projects such as Centro’s Peacock Alley, which hosts local artists, entrepreneurs, and creators.

At Community Labs, I researched school districts in Texas to gather the most important school districts to do COVID-19 testing in and researched factors that lead to vaccine hesitancy among sub-populations. I travelled to 30+ schools across San Antonio to assist team with COVID-19 testing, interacting with school administrators, students, and nurses to ensure that operations run smoothly

I joined The Contemporary in my first year of college and was on the leadership team as a Managing Editor since the end of my first year. As a Managing Editor, I acted as a point of contact for our writers, reviewed applications and conducted interviews for prospective editors from Trinity, and organized club meetings. I also edited pieces published on our website that focus on critical issues in the writer's community; we have partnered with students from over 30 universities across the country. I have edited pieces on prison reform, mental health on college campuses, and restaurant taxes, among many others.

I researched volunteer partners and recruiting events for SAMMinistries, a nonprofit that helps to fight homelessness in San Antonio.

As part of Students + Startups, I worked with Launch SA and helped run the first virtual San Antonio Entrepreneurship Week with over 400 registrants, coordinating the technical aspects of the conference. I also reviewed Launch SA’s data sources to determine how Launch SA can improve their data collection and outreach to best serve the San Antonio community.

I was part of a new program that supports the advising system at Trinity. As a peer mentor, I met with students on probation to discuss strategies for academic success, degree planning, and career exploration. I also interviewed full-time candidates for the new Advising Center at Trinity University.

I supported public relations and communications projects at the SAEDF, an organization that works to recruit and retain businesses in San Antonio.

Worked in the ticket booth and as a food runner to deliver the best possible experience to our guests and was consistently one of the top sellers of AMC’s rewards program.
