Dearborn Works

I managed both the Caster and the Basic Oxygen Furnace at Dearborn Works Maintenance for my shift. Since I started the steel making department has increased over 300% due to preventative maintenance and continues improvement projects. OSHA recordable injuries has decreased 75%. The maintenance team worked in conjunction with the production team to gain these goals! Some of my job duties are listed below. - Supervise maintenance employees within the Steel Making division overseeing special projects, down days, and outages. - Maximize employee utilization, developing skills and abilities via training- Drive continuous improvement through the maintenance organization in health, safety and environmental quality - Ensure safety and environmental guidelines are met and coached to hourly employees- Assist in developing continuous improvement plans—- Maintain equipment to ensure proper function and reliability—- Develop short and long term maintenance plans- Hands on with repairs and maintenance as needed.- Meet requirements for Safety Contacts and Observations- Conduct JSHA reviews as scheduled and make appropriate revisions.
