Job SummaryThe Engineering Technicians are responsible for ensuring the process and production equipment within their work area runs at optimum capacity, with the highest yields, and lowest. Engineering Technicians work under the guidance of a Process Engineer and will use the principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems. They will work closely with Production to provide input for material dispositions, identifying problems, defining corrective actions, revising documentation, and providing training.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive, other duties may be assigned.• Monitor daily process performance, develop monitoring and control plans.• Monitor process consumables consumption rates and costs against plan.• Work closely with Production to identify problems and obtain corrective action.• Investigate process issues systematically using proven methods to define root cause.• Develop and update Procedures, OCAPs, and Material specifications based on latest available information.• Train operators, and maintenance staff on the latest available information.• Execute test plans set by an Engineer, and collect the relevant data.• Write and/or conduct experiments in support of department objectives.• Create and follow work plans with path forward and next step identified.• Provide weekly measurable progress on tasks, toward timely completion of tasks.• Write weekly updates of past weeks progress against plan, next weeks plan towards goal, issues restricting progress, identify needed assistance.• Assist management with the procurement of process equipment and machinery.• Assist management with improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes.• Provide support to engineering staff and management as needed.
