I was born in Barnsley and attended Barnsley Academy and Barnsley Academy Sixth Form, following this I attended the University of Lincoln and sucessfully gained a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Politics. Throughout my studies, I had an acute interest in Social Policy and how this shapes communities. Following my years at the University of Lincoln, I took my interest in social policy and applied it in a real life setting as a Supported Housing Officer at Centrepoint, the UK's largest youth homelessness charity.In 2018, I then moved to become the regional Centrepoint Volunteering officer in Barnsley and Project Lead for the SSCR/SYFR Funded "Engage, Educate and Encourage: Addressing the Vulnerability of Homeless Young People in Barnsley. This Project helped support over 110 Young People in Barnsley in to a home and a job. Since September 2020, I have been the Senior Volunteering Officer at Centrepoint, leading the national team through the response to the Covid-19 Pandemic.Outside of work, I lead an active life as a local Independent Councillor for the Worsbrough Ward in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. I won the seat in 2019, with a majority of 323 and was re-elected in 2023 with a majority of 502. I am a member of the Central Area Council, General Licensing Board and Worsbrough Ward Alliance. I enjoy running, political thrillers and most of all spending time with my two young daughters.
