In this role I am required to;- Build upon existing and identify new political relationships in my assigned region with local Councillors, Members of Parliament while communicating stakeholders views internally and reflecting the business’s position(s) externally- Produce and deliver briefings and presentations, often on complex and sensitive matters, to senior colleagues and external stakeholders- Monitor the national and local political environment in order to identify and advise on emerging issues that may impact the business- Provide stakeholder incident support to the wider business, when things do not go as planned. Including crisis/emergency stakeholder communicationsIn my time at Thames Water I have built upon and consolidated my excellent political knowledge with a strong focus on MP and local government relationships and an understanding of Thames Water and the wider industry issues. I have developed top communication and influencing skills with the ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues and partners at all levels.Colleagues can attest to a strong track record and proficiency in stakeholder engagement, communications, public affairs, and media relations. I continue to learn and grow my abilities to influence key opinion formers and understand their needs. As a confident public speaker, I am credible, diplomatic and able to form strong relationships with political stakeholders of all backgrounds. Furthermore, I have excellent time management skills and an ability to work under pressure. I hold regular external meetings across our supply region, introduce MP's to the water industry and lead public-facing events to help deliver Thames Water messages.
