As Chief Innovation Officer of The Underline, I lead all technological development focused on user experience and optimizing operations for the 10-mile linear park, multimodal trail, and art destination. I am responsible for designing and developing pioneering technology to enhance The Underline’s visitor experiences, civic engagement, and operational efficiency. I am also responsible for partnerships and projects focused on innovation for The Underline, deploying technology that intuitively integrates in the urban environment, and connecting its community and its citizens to each other and to place. I also help oversee the planning, design, and implementation of The Underline’s Tech Master Plan, creating and implementing innovative technology that provides deep civic engagement and vibrant experiences for guests and visitors. In this role, I strive to implement technology that enhances and supports The Underline’s bold vision to build a healthier, more equitable, sustainable, and mobile community.

Voyhoy was selected as the 23rd Endeavor company from Miami at Endeavor Global’s 81st International Selection Panel in Detroit, Michigan. Endeavor, a global network that selects, mentors and accelerates high-impact entrepreneurs from all industries, opened its Miami office with Knight Foundation support in 2013. Endeavor Entrepreneurs receive services that include mentorship and access to capital, global markets and talent. Endeavor is the only non-profit that supports high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. Their “mentor capitalist” model breaks down economic and cultural barriers to entrepreneurship through advising from a network of world-class business leaders. With their guidance, Endeavor Entrepreneurs throughout Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the U.S. have created over 1.5M high-value jobs and generated over $15B in revenue worldwide.

As a techstars mentor, I provide support and advice to early-stage companies and entrepreneurs participating in Techstars accelerator programs. Along with mentoring founders on business strategy, digital marketing, fundraising, product development, go-to-market strategy, etc., I have also advised them on work/life balance, mental health, and the personal challenges of being an entrepreneur of an early-stage startup.

As an independent consultant and contractor I worked on several projects while living in Seattle, WA. My first project was a 3-month independent contract, helping to launch a new venture capital firm investing in early-stage startups focused on the future of work, remote learning, and distributed team solutions. My next role involved the development of a family fund, investing in publicly-traded stocks, focusing on building a portfolio of investments most affected by the pandemic, as well as specific tech stocks that were undervalued relative to their pre-pandemic valuations. As the market normalized, we consolidated the fund to only a handful of investments after realizing gains of 126% of initial invested capital. My last independent contracted job involved working with a fortune 500 company in the travel industry, helping to set up new program focusing on internal innovation, identifying M&A opportunities, and how to balance remote vs. onsite work as the company planned for reopening.

I founded Voyhoy in 2014 hoping to bridge the gaps in South America’s fragmented and largely offline inter-city transport system. Voyhoy’s core product was a multimodal travel platform & API that allowed travelers to compare and buy bus, plane, and train tickets throughout South America. After launching in Chile and gaining early traction, Voyhoy became the first company from Chile to be accepted into Techstars. Voyhoy also became the first multimodal travel platform in the region. After international expansion, Voyhoy’s ticket network grew to 250+ local transport operators, covering over 100k routes and 15K+ destinations. Integrations also enabled over 20 local payment options for Voyhoy customers. Revenues grew each year (80% YoY on avg). In 2018, Voyhoy launched a proprietary technology called “Smart Tickets”, which combined separate trip legs (ex: bus + flight) into one single ticket, creating over 2000 new trips. In total, Voyhoy sold over 100k tickets, generating over $2.5M in gross revenue.As the CEO of Voyhoy, my responsibilities were diverse and adapted to the size, needs, and goals of the company, including but not limited to: - Business Strategy, from the idea stage to a full-scaled international product with millions of users. - Hiring & Recruiting, growing the team from just myself to over 30 employees at its peak. - Fundraising, financing nearly $3M from venture capital firms, angel investors, and accelerators. - Product Management, managing the sprints of dev teams, implementing more efficient methodologies. - GTM strategy, launching of new business lines, revenue streams, and the expansion into new markets. - Commercial Development, implementing and overseeing a strategy that led to 75 +direct partnerships. - Corporate Governance, conducting board meetings, stakeholder communications, updates, etc.

Resertrip, a multimodal booking platform helping travelers save time and money across bus, plane, train, ferry and rideshare in Europe, was launched as a joint-venture, licensing the proprietary technology of my company, Voyhoy. As the CTO of Resertrip, I was responsible for hiring and managing a technical team capable of building the resertrip platform, API, and integrating with external systems. In this role, I oversaw all product sprints with the developers and coordinated with the CEO to establish the company priorities and timelines. As part of the development team, I was able to launch the platform and API in less than 6 weeks. I also oversaw the integrations of over 20 transport providers, starting in Spain and eventually expanding coverage into France, Germany, and Italy.

As the Business Development Manager, I was responsible for building leads, growing sales and signing new university partners, resulting in new business and revenue for the company.
