Jake Speck joined A.D. Players at The George Theater as Executive Director in August of 2017. Founding President & Managing Director of Studio Tenn Theatre Company from 2010-2017, Jake led Studio Tenn from infancy to one of the most celebrated and well attended theatre companies in the southeast, repeatedly recognized by the Nashville Scene in their annual "Best of Nashville" issue as the best theatre company in the city. A Dallas native with Tennessee roots, Jake has seen great success as a producer and arts administrator and has an impressive performing resume, including a two-year run in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Jersey Boys and roles in regional and Off Broadway productions of The Fastest Woman Alive, Life Science, Forever Plaid, The Melville Boys and many more. Most recently he appeared as Mitch Albom in the A.D. Players' production of Tuesdays with Morrie. His television credits include featured performances on the Emmy and Tony awards, a recurring role in the ABC series Nashville and the Netflix series Master of None opposite Aziz Ansari. Jake has also appeared in multiple films including the Mel Brooks musical The Producers and the indie hit, Closer to God and has performed a private concert for the President and First Lady at the White House. At Studio Tenn he starred in productions of Les Miserables, Twelve Angry Men and Monty Python's Spamalot. Nearly four years into his tenure at A.D. Players, Jake has led the company to it's three most well attended and highest grossing seasons in its 54 year history and was named one of Houston's 50 Most Admired CEOs of 2020 by the Houston Business Journal. Worked with community leaders to present the first ever “sensory friendly” theatre performance in the area for special needs adults and children. In only seven years, Mr. Speck led Studio Tenn from a start-up organization to one of the leading regional theatre companies in the Southeast. -
