The role of Test and Support Analyst was offered to me following the continuous growth our IAG's Earthquake Claims System; utilising my skills in Agile Software Development I was able to identify business needs directly from customers and lead releases from a testing perspective. During the final development phases of this project I moved onto the analysis and resolution of technical debt, data analysis and staff performance reporting as well as end user support

I was fortunate enough to acquire this role after a need was identified for a robust system to manage the large volume of earthquake claims at IAG following the Christchurch earthquakes. Key to my success in this role was my ability to quickly interpret business requirements and liaise with business analysts and software developers to encourage a culture of continuous improvement, my success in this role also led to the training of the end users of our system and trouble shooting of any post release issues in a help desk capacity.

During my time as a Customer Relationship Consultant I built a proven track record for building rapport with my customers and providing successful outcomes for all involved, this led to the role of Earthquake Claims Specialist, which is a senior role within the earthquake claims division at IAG, the primary focus of my role was to provide advice to staff around technical aspects of insurance and claims disputes, negotiate cash settlement claims and form solutions for out of scope work.

In this role my primary focus was managing the settlement of claims primarily over the $115,000 EQC cap, this was a highly rewarding role, where instead of simply repairing people’s homes, I was given the opportunity to play a pivotal role in rebuilding their futures following the Canterbury earthquakes.
