As a member of the 2024-25 cohort of the Hamilton Center Society of Fellows, I participate in a weekly reading and discussion group centered on exploring the ideas behind and continuing influence of the canon of Great Books of Western Civilization. It will culminate in a student conference in Oxford, United Kingdom in May 2025. It is by grappling with the deep truths and complex concepts that undergird the human experience that I hope to take away greater insight into how my career aspirations may help me further contribute to my community. I also hope to use this opportunity to advance my proficiency in such important skills as writing, comprehension, debate, and public speaking.

As section editor of State & Congressional Politics at the Florida Finibus, I write and edit both objective and op-ed pieces. The Florida Finibus is a new student newspaper at the University of Florida working to revive the intellectual tradition of the civil debate of ideas that have been the hallmark of Western collegiate life.

As a Student Assistant in the Office of the President, my work responsibilities included contributing to the administrative staff by answering phones, delivering mail, and maintaining the upkeep of the office. I also conducted research projects into various fields that affected the University of Florida and helped organize and advance events various members of the team participated in. My goal throughout, through a positive attitude and maximum effort, was to help carry out the vision of President Ben Sasse for this integral institution.

Advancing American Freedom was founded by former Vice President Mike Pence and seeks to propose conservative solutions to issues currently confronting the United States. My primary responsibilities as an intern included working in a support capacity to all members of the team, from development and finance, to press and scheduling, to policy and research. In addition, I was tasked with the compiling of daily press clippings, the answering of phones, and the upkeep of the office. During this experience, I further honed my knowledge and skills regarding political strategy/operations and strived to contribute to the overall success of this meaningful organization.

I gained experience in floor estimating, on-site material delivery, installation of carpet, rugs, and hardwoods, organizing a product library, managing product samples and catalogs, reaching out to existing and potential clients regarding pending proposals, and helping in office upkeep and staff aid.

I worked as a research assistant to Dr. Tevi Troy with the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Presidential Leadership Initiative. My responsibilities included targeted research on aspects of the United States presidency and copy-editing and fact-checking articles prior to publication.

I worked in the Office of United States Senator Marco Rubio to represent him and serve the people of Florida by connecting constituents with requisite caseworkers, recording and documenting constituent opinions and concerns, and assisting in research projects on statewide and local governmental and political developments.

Game Day staff. I helped facilitate the guest experience by scanning tickets, checking bags, and providing security at the ballpark.

I assisted in finding potential journalists from a variety of publications for staff members to collaborate with, built spreadsheets for contact lists, helped record instances of coverage of clients, uploaded data to sites on events the firm was promoting, carried out research into client industries for staff strategies, and helped maintain office and deliver press badges.

Register position - I took guest orders, carried out guest requests and service, and assisted fellow team members in ensuring quality Chick-fil-A experience and atmosphere for all guests.
