I worked as a research assistant in the Rotary-Wing Research Lab at Washington University in St. Louis under Dr. David A Peters. There I spent all my time working on developing and testing a finite-state model for 2-D airfoils which change direction and feel the effects of reverse flow. After successfully developing a model, it was discovered in testing that a Floquet instability occurs during the transition point from forwards to reverse regimes. Further testing was then conducted using analytical results which could be developed in closed-form, against which the finite-state results could be compared against. These were useful in showing the finite-state model can provide an accurate representation of the effects of lift on a 2-D airfoil. The results of the closed-form analysis as well as the discovery of the Floquet instability are being written into papers which have been submitted this fall.I was a member of the Missouri S&T MSAT Satellite Design team, conducting work on the GNC (Guidance, Navigation and Control) and Power Subsystems. Most of my work involved developing and testing PWM thrust algorithms and hardware, as well as various tasks for the Monte Carlo simulation of the flight mission. I also worked with the development and implementation of magnetorquer coils for in-flight control. I worked as a summer intern at R&S Machine, designing and implementing a program for instructing new users on how to run the Polyworks Inspection software in conjunction with an RDS Scanner for part inspection. I worked a different summer as an intern at Patriot Machine as a quality intern, assisting with the inspection of flight components during post-processing. I also inspected aerial refueling boom-skins and developed a customer inquiry for non-conformance parts. I worked as a retail outfitter for the Alpine Shop in Kirkwood, MO, providing customers with meaningful advice to have a safe and fun experience in the outdoors, as well as assisting with hiking boot fitting and sandals for people to use on hikes or in everyday life.I worked as a day camp counselor for 3 summers, facilitating and organizing activities for children 6-11 years of age. I am an Eagle Scout, and my Eagle Scout service project was designing and building doghouses for the Humane Society of Missouri.
