Maintenance Apprentice at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (Burnaston)Throughout my career and my previous education I have always wanted to push myself and take on challenges, that is why I have taken on this current role. Working in the Maintenance department ensures that no day is the same and new challenges await, allowing me to assess problems and create efficient solutions. By completing this Apprenticeship I hope to gain the skills to become a fully capable Maintenance Technician and take my work to the next level, taking on more advanced tasks and climbing the Toyota ladder and possibly beyond. I have experience in the Retail sector, working for Toolstation as a sales assistant for just short of a year. Here I was tasked with dealing with customer's orders and problems throughout the day whilst also maintaining the stock of the store, portraying attributes of team-working, problem solving, stock assignment and communication; all ensuring for a good customer experience and an efficient high performing store. I also have experience working in busy warehouse environments, with Greencore and Royal Mail respectively. Here I was tasked with warehouse pickings and logistics work, pushing myself to reach and break targets set throughout the day to work towards a high performing warehouse. For my work experience I spent the week at Jaguar Land Rover, Solihull. Here I witnessed the great extent of car manufacturing and some parts of mechanical engineering which furthered my interest behind the subjects- I also had access to various types of technology during my week at the plant and I had the opportunity to program CMM devices in the metrology department. I was also given the opportunity to program the KUKA and FANUC robots on the body-shop floor, giving me hands-on experiences with PLC languages.
