About Jake Anders
I am Professor of Quantitative Social Science at UCL, Deputy Director in the UCL Centre for Education Policy and Equalising Opportunities (CEPEO), and Principal Investigator of the COVID Social Mobility & Opportunities study (COSMO). I'm always interested in new research opportunities in the fields of educational inequality and evaluation.Previously, I have been an Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow at UCL, a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, and a Committee Specialist at the UK Parliament House of Commons Education Committee, at all of which I’ve worked on a variety of research and evaluation projects, including for government departments, charitable foundations, etc..I completed a PhD in Economics of Education in the UCL Social Research Institute. My supervisors were Prof. Lorraine Dearden (UCL/IFS) and Prof. John Micklewright (UCL). I successfully defended my thesis on Socioeconomic Inequality in Access to Higher Education in March 2015 with no corrections; my examiners were Prof. Ian Walker (Lancaster) and Prof. Alissa Goodman (UCL).
