I worked as a snowboard instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the past three winters. I taught e snowboard lessons for all ages and ability levels. I learned to manage outdoor safety and utilize clear communication to create successful learning environments. Throughout my time as an instructor, I established and maintained professional relationships with clients by organizing yearly bookings for private lessons. I even coached and assisted with snowboard/ski lessons for mentally and/or physically disabled clients through the Teton Adaptive program in the 2023-24 winter season. My biggest accomplishment as an instructor was acquiring my AASI Level 2 Snowboard Instructor certification this past winter, which is a three day exam that tests you ability to analyze movement, teach, and ride.

I spent the past two summers working as a river guide at Dave Hansen Whitewater. I conducted 300+ scenic and whitewater trips on the Snake River utilizing strong public speaking skills, effective groupmanagement, and extensive knowledge of local history and river ecology. While on the river, I managed the safety and general well-being of my guests, in addition to teaching them proper rafting technique and effective rescue procedures. The experience taught me to be decisive and dependable. No matter what happens on a river trip, the water stops for nobody, meaning I had to stay calm and act fast in dangerous scenarios. Whether that meant rescuing a guest who fell out of a boat or assisting a fellow guide with a rapid, my time at Dave Hansen taught me to solve problems quickly and work with people effectively.

Generally gaining knowledge on the operation of lab equipment and the process of conducting and presenting research.

Gained significant experience using AutoCAD to model and analyze HVAC and plumbing/piping systems. Aided in the redesigning and modeling of the plumbing of Foster Farms chicken processing plant by creating a diagram of their piping system with AutoCAD. Summer position. Worked as a Boys Counselor in the summers of 2017-2018, and promoted to Head Counselor for the summer of 2019 based on leadership skills and high level of competence. Oversaw the operation and safety of the Boys Dorms at Foothill Horizons Summer camp each week for seven weeks. Acted as the leader and supervisor for five other Boys Counselors and in general for the 65 boys who attended camp each week. Assisted in creating immersive programs for the kids at the summer camp and operating the Counselor In Training program, which consists of teaching young teenagers how to be responsible leaders. Gained valuable leadership and communication skills and learned how to work coherently with a staff of 21 members.
