I joined the Data Management and Insights (DMI) Audit Team in Q1 2022. As an Audit Manager, I’ve worked as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) on engagements related to data governance and oversight, testing of key data controls, and adherence to BCBS 239 principles.

As a Senior Auditor, my experience has focused primarily on our third party risk management program. This includes our standard audit program, expanding/calibrating coverage throughout the third party lifecycle, and identifying opportunities for leveraging data analytics in our third party coverage. I provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff auditors who are new to third party engagements and additional AIC support as needed. In addition to my third party experience, I’ve also been a part of several other audit engagements including branch banking and data management.

As an Associate Auditor at Wells Fargo, the majority of my experience focused on conducting periodic audits of third party vendor engagements.This included an in-depth review of vendor performance metrics, emerging risks and applicable risk assessments. Additional experience focused on accounts payable data management and Wells Fargo compliance with the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act). In addition to the audit experience listed above, I also led a project with a team of associates that focused on working in a virtual environment. We presented on the features and benefits of the virtual environment as well as the associated challenges facing company cultures and norms.

The HPS 3 position was part of a new initiative at Wells Fargo to provide coverage for specialists who are out of the office by temporarily taking over their customer pipelines. This ensured that customers continued to receive adequate service while their point of contact was out of office or unavailable. Beyond backfilling for specialists who were unavailable, I was also responsible for analyzing customer pipeline and resolving issues with aged and/or escalated files. The fundamental role of the HPS III position is to ensure that all customers are having their needs met regardless of how simple or complex their financial situation may be. My team also identified process gaps in order to offer both tactical and strategic solutions to ongoing issues. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, I would also meet with team members upon their return to provide coaching and a breakdown of customer pipeline observations. As a result, my team managed to significantly lower the amount of aged and escalated files, limit unnecessary customer callbacks and create teams of better specialists throughout the organization.

As an HPS 1, I managed a pipeline of 100-150 loans with the goal of assisting our customers in maintaining home ownership. We established ourselves as the single point of contact for each borrower and collected tax documents as well as financial statements to ensure their files were ready for underwriting. Once a decision had been rendered on a loan, it was my responsibility to communicate the decision and offer additional options to the borrower. In the event we were not able to modify a loan, we offer “graceful exit” solutions for the borrowers in order to avoid foreclosure. I would also assist in researching state-sponsored programs relative to a borrower’s residence that may offer additional assistance.Additional responsibilities included generating and executing reports and offering ongoing coaching to new and established team members.
