Manager of technology / data strategy as our company grew from infancy to purchasing from 1 million + farmers in the region, producing tens of millions of transactions per year. An especially challenging position, I was tasked with developing a technology strategy for our group of regional coffee-export companies located in extremely low-bandwidth East African regions. I played a hands-on role, designing, architecting and developing key data systems, including critical offline data collection software deployments in remote coffee buying sites, including the company's primary Supply Chain management systems and ERP solutions.- Collaborated with Monitoring & Evaluation team to deploy a technical product facilitating the measurability and effectiveness of a farmer training initiative serving 200,000+ families.- Facilitated finance-related reporting for internal stakeholders and partner banks, including risk management (commodity futures vs physical positions) and supplier financial services- Managed and deployed IoT mobile payment / banking solution, allowing coffee farmers to weigh coffee at point-of-sale and receive immediate digital payments through mobile money (M-Pesa).- I transitioned the company from 100% on-prem to a hybrid AWS cloud strategy, leveraging remote VPC environments containing EC2 instances and Amazon WorkSpaces in nearby regions.
