One of my professors once said something that stuck with me: "The study of history isn't just the collection of minutiae and facts about the past. It's a moral responsibility - not least of all because it is a practice in empathy - of understanding others within their contexts and on their terms." As a student, I grew accustomed to talks like these. We would discuss big ideas; my peers, professors, and I would mull over historical facts and figures and collaborate on analyzing their implications. And yes, we learned plenty of minutiae, too. But this stuck.As a professional, I'd like to help bring about a world of more empathy and understanding and to connect with like-minded people who want the same. For this reason, I have a particular interest in the non-profit and government administration fields but am open to working with any team with a vision for progress and making things better than they were when they found them. Using my initiative and skills in communication, research, and collaboration, I'm hoping to continue having conversations about big ideas and take part in making them a reality.Let's talk.
