- Researching integrated quantum light sources for applications in absorption sensing with the aim of commercialising technologies for industry.- Modelling the propagation of light though integrated structures using software such as Lumerical (C) and Python based packages.- Optimising test structure designs via genetic algorithms and prototyping such devices to enable successful experiments. - Designing and managing experiments demanding the consideration, both theoretically and experimentally, of the integration of various platforms such as electric circuit boards, photonic microchips and bulk optics. - Using software (MATLAB, R and Excel) to extrapolate conclusions from raw data via thorough statistical data analysis such as graphing, hypothesis testing, data fitting, signal processing and Bayesian inference.- Debugging technical difficulties within both experiments and code to enable the collection of valid data.- Innovating designs and methodology to improve the efficiency of the technology under development and to overcome experimental difficulties. - Coordinating with group members to layout multiple experiments onto one chip die allowing for optimal space usage whilst following detailed design rules and regulations.

- Vice chair of the events committee responsible for organising the first Careers In Quantum event in Bristol.- Careers in quantum is a free two-day event designed specifically to bridge the gap between skilled students in STEM disciplines and the booming quantum technology industry.- Recognising the need for a quantum startup showcase, we designed this event from scratch to enable students and companies to make the most of the networking opportunity. We were also the first quantum showcase to present a gender balanced speaker programme.During the planning I was directly involved in:- Managing a team of 12, along with the chair of the committee.- Venue research and logistics planning subject to a tight budget.- Fundraising additional funds from GCHQ to help finance applicants.- Designing media content for the website and programme.

- Working within a data science team, I fed into several projects building a variety of machine learning models to help the exploitation of data across multiple departments.- Aggregating and pre-processing datasets for modelling via data enrichment, missing data handling, feature selection, data partitioning and standardisation (SAS, R and Excel).- Prototyping, testing and enhancing both binary and regression models via hyper-parameter fine tuning and informed feature selection to iterate and converge on the best model.- Scoring and comparing model success using metrics such as receiver operating characteristic curves for binary models and mean squared error, absolute error and R squared scoring for regression models. - Utilising my awareness of different business units from pricing to operations to deliver appropriate, high impact models such as fraudulent claims identification and optimised claims handling.- Preparing and delivering executive summaries on models to senior management with a focus on operational and strategic impact.

Constructed marquees as part of a team for clients across London. Delegated teams to set up marquees for multiple clients to maximise productivity and efficiently utilise a small workforce.

Helped manage high profile events such as the christmas ball. Provided silver service in the Fountain restaurant as a waiter.
