At Sirono, we help patients navigate the rugged and disorienting landscape of healthcare billing. We provide patient financial concierge services for health systems by engaging with patients through multiple communication channels—online, email, paper, phone, and in person—all powered by our high-quality software applications.As head of Product Management, I led the product design and development teams to build, integrate and maintain our platform and services across multiple hospital sites, serving over 140,000 patients. I worked directly with sales, business owners, implementation, engineering, operations, customers and vendors to establish a product vision, define engagement strategies, and plan out our roadmap for future feature development. I also managed the day-to-day Agile product development process, prioritizing the backlog, planning sprints, writing and accepting stories, balancing feature development and bug fixes in line with our strategic goals.Key accomplishments:• For our initial product launch, I drove the definition and delivery of a minimum viable product (MVP) using a combination of software development, manual processes and integration with 3rd party tools.• Ensured our product, processes and policies were compliant with HIPAA, TCPA, FDCPA, 501r regulations and Medicare guidelines while maintaining a high quality user experience that maintained an average patient satisfaction score of 4.3/5 over 9 months.• Following a successful go-live, I managed the iteration of the MVP to deliver and maintain a complete product solution that demonstrated over 60% improvement in patient collections.

As head of Design at Sirono, I managed the design team, established user centered design practices within our agile development process, and defined the vision for multiple clinical and financial applications targeted to a variety of healthcare settings.Key accomplishments:• Designed an extensible UI framework for enterprise power users that supported users’ workflows and enabled rapid development and feature growth.• Conducted contextual inquiries for generative product definition and workflow analysis. User tested multiple product directions to define the user experience we brought to market that resulted in high patient satisfaction and improved collections.• Established a product design ownership structure to enable rapid design while managing UI consistency. Worked with other designers to create a live style guide that increased developer productivity and quality of the designs.• Oversaw corporate branding, marketing website and sales collateral creation.

Established and drove the creative vision of projects. Collaborated with design researchers, technologists and other UI designers on the project team to lead the creation of user interface wireframes and specifications.Key accomplishments:• Led the 3-year complete redesign effort for a leading European business (ERP) software provider which included conducting 60+ contextual inquiries, development of a guiding design strategy, design of the initial product vision, presentations to executives and 200+ person R&D group, multiple user validation studies and detailed design for 15 unique abstract use cases.• Defined the user interaction model for Samsung KNOX, a comprehensive Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution for combining work and play on a single mobile device. Interviewed multi-device users to define concept directions, designed interactive UI prototypes, conducted user validation testing, and developed the final UX strategy and presentation.• Mentored junior designers in the design process, provided critiques, refinement of their designs and coaching on internal and client-facing presentations.

Responsible for solving complex UI challenges, supporting design research activities, and presenting work to client stakeholders.Key accomplishments:• Led initial release of a search-based, server and virtualization management web application, Hyper9. Extracted core functionality from an extensive requirements document and designed a simple, yet powerful tool for data center administrators.• Collaborated on discovery research and complete redesign of e-MDs, an award-winning integrated electronic health records and practice management software solution for physician practices and enterprises.

Developed a strategy for incorporating user-centered design, user experience design, and eco-design into the Sony Design Center's process.
