Motivated and passionate engineer with more than 16 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, including roles in design, implementation, research, teaching, and regulatory applications; currently working full time in implementation of the Clean Air Act with a focus on air toxics (Hazardous Air Pollutants / HAPs); occasional part-time work in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in lower-income countries; equipped with a diverse range of skills and experience in various contexts, both domestic and international; strong technical grounding in engineering sciences coupled with a complementary understanding and appreciation of public health, economic, social, legal, political, and related non-technical aspects of engineering, environmental, and development issues; specializations in air toxics and Clean Air Act regulatory issues in the US and in water resources and water supply with focused work and research on WASH in sub-Saharan Africa; other interests and areas of study include groundwater development and hydrogeology, water and sanitation system operation and maintenance, solid waste management, environmental protection, remediation, and sustainable low-cost technologies, among others; knowledgeable on a wide variety of technical and soft aspects of WASH implementation and policy; specific experience in community water supply, WASH sustainability and O&M, Self-Supply and market-based low-cost water supply, multiple-use systems, household and shared sanitation, hygiene promotion, menstrual hygiene, and behavior change communication; engaged with research, best practices, and innovation in WASH technologies and approaches; passionate about improving service delivery and sustainability in WASH through innovative technology, business models, and public-private partnerships; open to opportunities in new fields and eager to learn, develop, and apply new skills. Registered as a State of Georgia E.I.T. and approved for the Georgia P.E. exam.
