My journey to becoming a counsellor involves a mixture of experiences, blending the precision of a tissue culture lab, the raw energy of a touring punk band as well as my own personal mental health journey. In the lab, among the pipettes and petri dishes, I unexpectedly emerged as the go-to person for support, a role I valued as much as my scientific experiments. However, it was life on tour that opened my eyes to a world of diverse mental health stories. Through countless merch table conversations and encounters with fans worldwide from 2011-2018, I realised the universal need for understanding and compassion. My own struggles within the mental health system lit a fire in me to dive deeper. I transitioned from lab coats to counselling with certifications in hand. Now, I bring a blend of empathy, personal insights, and professional knowledge to my practice. My unique journey underscores the notion that effective counsellors often emerge from a diverse range of life experiences.Education:I hold an MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling from Western University (2023).Certification: PACFA Reg.Certified PractisingInterests:I find immense joy in the relational aspect of my work, cherishing every opportunity I have in supporting individuals towards reconnecting with their community and stimulating meaningful connections. My interests lie in neurodiversity, interpersonal neurobiology, group work and humanistic approaches.
