Inventor of a patent pending process for a solid oxide electrolyzer integrated with a direct reduced iron plant.Researched hard-to-decarbonize industries to integrate with solid oxide electrolysis hydrogen production, producing detailed mass and energy balances of new ‘green’ chemical plants.Analyzed effective methods for carbon capture of solid oxide fuel cell anode exhaust.Investigated cost-effective and technologically viable ways of recovering used fuel cell components for future use.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a biological water treatment plant performing various field tests, routine and infrequent maintenance, and changing process conditions to create successful plant operation. Actively involved with the commissioning and startup of new water treatment plants working out various beginning of life plant problems such as optimal control narratives, unique plant operation, setpoint determination, electrical and mechanical problems, and optimizing conditions to develop healthy bioreactors. Handled several R&D projects using lab scale, pilot scale and full-scale equipment. Created and carried out R&D experiments so that meaningful data could be collected and interpreted to benefit future projects and full-scale operation. Maximized possible energy incentives working with Rocky Mountain Power and Cascade Energy. Collaborated with an engineering team to update mine shift report for better data collection. Developed a UI using Microsoft VBA saving company money by creating a system that replaced a commercial data collection method. Involved in various aspects of a capital investment project regarding changing the mine’s ore processing by adding a secondary crusher. Work included preliminary AutoCAD drawings, vendor and consultant relations, front-end safety considerations, and energy savings calculations. Updated the mine’s HMI and helped fix errors in the system assisting the control and automation team. Learned about PLC programming and how HMI’s interacts with the PLCs.
