Building Specialist, Station Lead, Trimble Specialist
I started working at Fading West as a Building Specialist on the factory line, but was quickly promoted to a station lead. I earned this promotion with my careful detail orientation and my relaxed but productive leadership style. With the help of upper management, my team and I reduced our station's turn around time drastically. During my time as station lead, my station went from turning over in an average of twelve hours to an average of six. We achieved this by applying lean production techniques such as single piece flow and elimination of rework. During my time as a station lead I lead several teams ranging from two people to five people. These teams often included incarcerated people on a work release program with the local prison. I also successfully managed people who did not speak any english. These experiences pushed me to develop excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills. Desiring a more technical role, I transitioned to Trimble Specialist at the factory. This role consisted of analyzing shop drawings to map a path for the Trimble layout system. Additionally, it involved working closely with the engineering team to fix any errors or discrepancies in the shop drawings. Finally, I acted as a go-between for the station leads and engineers to make sure the engineering drawings could bee executed in an efficient manner.
