My main responsibility was to verify insurance policies for our patients in order for them to receive the clinical services needed. Along with my responsibility of verification of insurances, I was also trained to run the back office. This task allowed me direct contact with patients to prepare them to see the ophthalmologist. This task was fulfilled by working multiple ophthalmic machines including: autorefractor, fundus photography, and a perimeter visual field machine. As I mastered these responsibilities, I was then trained to bill patients for the services rendered by the physician. Now, I also train new employees throughout the office. I appropriately handle customer questions and complaints to ensure a high quality facility. Returned after working with the American College of Healthcare Executives during the summer.
