My name is Jake Pothast, and I am from Dayton, Ohio. I am a sophomore at Miami University in the Farmers School of Business. I plan on double majoring in Finance and Accounting.In my first year at Miami University, I was faced with many challenges that I was forced to overcome. One of these challenges that sticks out in my head was a project called the "Client Challenge". This was a project that was worked on over four classes in the business school in my First Year Integrated Core classes. The assignment was we were given a real client, Terrasmart, and given a prompt to fix a problem that that they were having. We were broken into small groups of 3-4 people and we would work on this task and presentation that we gave to a representative of Terrasmart all semester long. This was a great challenge and an excellent way to learn how to work in a group, and build confidence in my public speaking abilities. I am excited to get to use these skills that I have learned in my future endeavours.
