Consultant for the Adams Law Group, providing Copyright, and Trademark services. Also an Intellectual Property consultant for individual inventors, providing development of concepts. I recently completed a contract for a state funded, private technology transfer organization as an interface to university research organizations.

Coordinated approximately 50 investigators and researchers as they presented a variety of available technologies to legislators, investors, buyers and other researchers. Medical, Chemical, New Technologies in Physics, Nuclear, Automotive, and others.

During two terms I examined various types of patents and was trained in both Trademark and Patent examining. I examined 14 patents in the Mechanical Building Structures group, I examined 8 reissue patents in the microelectronics group and I examined 2 original patents in the electronic hardware group. My examinations included all prior art research, first office actions and applicant phone interviews. I also experienced government relations through contact with Department of Commerce and with Tennessee Senators Alexander and Frist.

Promoted from engineering group to corporate quality control organization. This included adapting the corporate system to the unique requirements at the assigned facility, training the users of the system and managing a team to perpetually maintain and monitor the system.ENGINEERING EXPERIENCEEngineering capitalized on my technical skills and education to create a professional leader in contract management. During this season of progressive responsibilities and promotions I developed skills for budget management, contract drafting, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance and the ability to manage internal and external customers. I discovered my infectious positive attitude, learned to believe in those around me, and learned the power of discipline and integrity. The capstone of my engineering experience was as a project manager for a $6M machine system for the Saturn VUE.

I annually drafted and managed $2M to 5M in service, construction and maintenance contracts in new and existing facilities. These contracts involved compliance with OSHA safety regulations, MVSS regulations, state environmental regulations and corporate standards. After a promotion to Project Manager, I held a key role in Saturn VUE program. I coordinated input from corporate, team and engineering groups to draft and implement "design, build and installation" contracts. I developed and managed budgets, monitored and reported on progress, I was responsible for compliance of the projects to state, federal and corporate standards. I led the team of contract firms, multi-state suppliers, engineers, designers and UAW skilled tradesmen through communication, team development, negotiations and hard work to successfully complete the program.

I accomplished a career track with progressive roles and responsibilities on an “advanced projects group”; prior to corporate restructuring toward bankruptcy proceedings. Provided uniformity, completion, accuracy while maintaining timeliness across multiple contracts. Also responsible for directing service contracts to source and manage housekeeping, industrial maintenance, waste, recycling, ventilation and food services. Floor maintenance, building aesthetics and function were priorities. • As part of my tasks and leadership, I was known for walking about – regularly walking every aisle of the facility and outside to maintain and manage all defects, growing issues, safety concerns, personnel matters, and managing relationships.• Progressive promotions beginning with as student, proceeding to power tool manufacturing engineer, then to Facility manufacturing engineer and manager with Premier, Waste Management, Carrier, Sodexo and a dozen other suppliers.• Created, negotiated and finalized contracts to govern projects from early development to final production on building construction, manufacturing systems and service contracts.• Headed OSHA Safety tours to audit safety and regulatory compliance. • Facilitated annual meetings and contract renewals. Implemented new programs.• Had day to day engagement to ensure compliance with contractual terms, milestones, and Changes Management. • Maintained contract databases, binders and records.• Synchronized contract templates to align vendor and client template requirements. • Provided team, cross functional team members and engineering staff with performance reviews, professional development, training, and mentoring. • Required excellent communication, written and oral presentations to multidisciplinary teams of professionals and personnel.

Wrote and published thesis comparing Saturn to other US and foreign manufacturing systems. Revealed that complex international systems are built upon networks of individual strategies, and that perfection is cumulative result of all systems (and that the cost of quality is a function of the desired quality, not just a matter of what system is used).
