Although I did not always know it, my journey to becoming a dentist began the day I wasborn. I was born with a cleft lip and was fortunate enough to undergo surgery to correct it when Iwas merely two and a half months old. Luckily, I faced no serious complications, but not all children share that luck.When I was in middle school, I got braces, like most children at that age. Unlike most children, I spent over four years of my life in those braces. That experience may seem negative on the surface, but it allowed me to foster a relationship with my orthodontist. I developed a passion for teeth over those years in his office and a desire to solve the puzzle that is my complex mouth. My experiences as a newborn and adolescent drive me to help others, as so many doctors have helped me in my life. My dental mission is to bridge the accessibility gap in dentistry that exists right here in the United States as well as around the globe while forming genuine connections with patients. I believe in the power of emotional dentistry. I have witnessed the impact that giving a person a smile that they can be proud of can have on their confidence, and their life trajectory. Each and every person deserves the care that I received as a child and the opportunity to feel confident in their own smile. I aim to make strides toward making that possible during my career as a dentist.As a Dental Student at the UNC-Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, I bring a unique entrepreneurial and innovative mindset to the scientific world.
