CurrentCaesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute (CKWRI) at Texas A&M University – Kingsville is the premier wildlife research organization in Texas and a leader in wildlife research across the country. With the mission of providing science-based information to back conservation and wildlife management the Institute gives ranchers and wildlife managers across the country the ability to reach their goals. I work as a Research Assistant identifying management techniques to optimize the restoration of native Tamaulipan thornscrub communities, an essential habitat for the critically endangered ocelot. In doing so I: Designed and will carry out a two-year research project completing field work and data analysis. Develop and present posters and professional presentations based upon my findings. Volunteer and assist other graduate students with their projects including deer captures, turkey captures, and other surveys.
