About Jacob Reilly, Aicp, Edfp

Dynamic public servant passionate about racial equity; seeking to effect change within and among institutions for the greater good of all underrepresented communities. I have significant training and experience in implementing racial equity initiatives and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with the diverse communities interacting with government every day. My professional experience is rooted in community development and a passion for the vitality of inner-ring and central city jurisdictions, and their county counterparts. Driven by a focus on people and how they interact with place, I have experience working collaboratively on complex projects with diverse stakeholders to achieve a shared vision and outcome.A planner and writer by training, education, and experience, I am passionate about human-centered planning whether that's associated with housing (mixed use, multi-family and single-family), motorized and non-motorized transportation, park and recreation space, economic development or workforce/labor issues. I am constantly seeking to learn new ways to approach sustainable and replicable people-first planning especially for under-represented communities such as people with disabilities, new Americans, and youth, all from a race equity lens. Although I have many years of experience in affordable housing production, data analytics, economic development initiatives, heritage preservation, long- and short-range planning, and transportation, I find myself with an ever-shifting focus toward the nexus of the nationwide housing shortage and its effects on workforce development, including the talent pipeline. I feel strongly about connecting everyone who wants a job to a meaningful-to-them job or career in which they feel valued and are paid a meaningful-to-them wage.
