As an International Politics Editor for CCTV News Content, I wrote, translated, researched, and edited news stories for CCTV’s international English channel with a specific focus on international political issues. The stories I wrote and edited were broadcast internationally on CCTV to reach hundreds of thousands of viewers across the globe, and were also sold to over 90 other news organizations including AP, Reuters, and BBC. I am an expert in sourcing, researching, and fact-checking internationally-minded news pieces and bringing both journalistic and linguistic rigor to the table. I am also well known at the office for my speed and efficiency. During 2014, I was an integral part of a company-wide restructuring drive designed to improve our organizational structure, work efficiency, and end product. In addition to liaising with, translating for, and acting as a general company- and China-guide for several guest Editors in Chief from Reuters UK, the ideas and solutions I personally put forward during this period have been adopted on a company-wide scale since spring of 2015.

In my first job after graduation, I managed and oversaw CBG’s San Diego headquarters. I researched, organized and interpreted information and big data; developed and wrote reports on various industry sectors; prepared presentations for clients; and translated documents from Chinese to English and vice versa. I also identified and solicited new clients.

Reporting directly to the embassy’s Senior Commercial Officer, I researched various projects related to Chinese-U.S. economic relations, wrote market reports for the Commercial Service, and hosted and interacted with delegates from American and European companies looking to do business in China. Research included reports on Chinese railroad infrastructure, the Chinese automobile industry, and Chinese global tourism.
