"How we do things matters more than what we do" When I put this into perspective, the path became clear for me to choose QA. One might ask that as a Senior SDE having an experience of 3.5 years in QA, what made me choose this career?I wish the I had an answer to that, but instead I do have some theories:1. It could be my childhood habit of breaking toys, turning to breaking my laptop & desktop, & breaking the apps to understand what goes on underneath.2. It could be my knack to see through anything that might seem off &/or out of ordinary/order4. It could be that when I started as a SDE doing development, I took QA to try something new & got hooked.The number 3 is intentionally missing to ensure that you are still with me & you are not getting bored.Well speaking of that missing number 3, it could be that I came to understand the value of my work & its impact.I've worked on various types of apps including Web apps, mobile apps (iOS & Android), chatbots, to name a few. I started as a SDE, learning more about the how to do testing, what tests to be done, how to have good test coverage. In the process I explored & expanded my understanding on QA & how things can get better by incorporating testing tools like Selenium, Appium, Jmeter, Postman, Mockoon, etc. along with following processes like AGILE & by making use of Kanban boards. I also started exploring the non-technical aspects of QA like Client interaction, Team management, Process optimization & standardization, etc.I was recently promoted to Senior SDE, it brought a very different set of challenges that I'm managing at my best. I'm currently responsible to manage the projects, prepare the test plan, train the new recruits, optimize the process further, use automation wherever necessary & collaborate with devs, stakeholders and project managers to deliver the software that meets both the client's requirements & industry's quality standard.So far in this journey, I've learnt a lot about how to get better & also about how much I've still got to learn. So, I stay curious to try to learn & get a little better everyday."Some superheroes don't wear capes, & nor does the QA" Cheers!!
