I've had the privilege of establishing and implementing sustainability as a strategic element, into a fairly big and growing company. So obviously I have also experienced many failures and successes. The failures I wouldn’t be without for the world. But I won’t bore anybody with them here. Instead I want to highlight a few of the successes I’m most proud of in my years as sustainability manager or Troublemaker, as I was called.WINNER OF "STRATEGY AWARD" AT 2009 CLIMATE CUPAt this point we had just made and begun working with our strategy. And we were absolutely autodidactic. So it was of course a big surprise and joy to win this award ahead of much larger companies, who had worked with sustainability and CSR much longer than us. UNIQUE COLLABORATION WITH FRIENDS INTERNATIONALIn 2013 a unique three-part collaboration was made with the Cambodian organization Friends International (FI) and Danish charity Dan Church Aid (DCA). FI help marginalized youth into society in Cambodia. Among others, they do this by running restaurants, where the kids train and start what will hopefully be a career in the restaurant business. The main purpose of the collaboration is that SNS help build up the service and host level at FI’s restaurants, thereby making them more financially sustainable. 100% ORGANIC GREENS ON THE MENUIn 2015 SNS made a collaboration with Danish organic vegetable supplier Aarstiderne, meaning that all greens on the menu of the 12 Danish restaurants are organic. In the sushi kitchen, where both quality and shape and size of the products is so important, it was a major task and challenge to get to this point, why I’m especially proud of this achievement.SUSTAINABILITY AS A MATTER OF FACT THINKINGBut the achievement that makes me most proud, is that I managed to make sustainability a matter of fact thinking in the company. That is also why I feel confident that despite me not being there any longer, the company will continue its sustainability journey.

The Climate Advocates for the British Council was a selected group of young people who were already engaged in or working in the climate and environmental sector. Facilitated and supported by the British Council, the idea was that together this group could come up with projects, that would benefit the course we were all looking to improve.

Energy Crossroads was cross-disciplinary student-based organisation working to engage university students on the topic or climate change and sustainable energy. Energy Crossroads was founded in a collaboration between students from Stanford University, The University of Copenhagen and The Technical University of Denmark. In the approximately two years, I was the chairman of the danish organisation, we hosted a large conference with 500 students from all over Europe. Besides that we developed an educational "energy game", where players had to develop their desired future energy scenario. This game is still being taught throughout schools in Denmark.
