Java Tech Lead
I was a leader of a team which task was to introduce new banking product into already existing infrastructure at the client side. My tasks in this project were multi-level. First, I was a Scrum Master responsible for following the Scrum process. I also played a role of project manager by monitoring progress of tasks and reporting to the client. I was also a developer and tech mentor, so I worked with the rest of the team on the source code in order to achieve as high quality as possible. Finally, I was the leader of this project, who was responsible for the overall success of this project (from the technological and customer-satisfaction points of view). For few months I was a leader of a team, which task was to design and implement REST-based API for a set of already existing services. The API was created in Node.js-based technologies (with such modules like Express, Winston, Mocha). Our task was also to introduce changes and missing features to the existing services. These services were coded in Java using Spring-based technologies, JMS, multithreading, etc. The project was developed with Scrum principles and practices. To ensure high quality we payed attention to testing, peer reviews, pair programming and continuous integration. The customer for the project was one of the investment banks.
Agile Coach
I had a chance to be solely a Scrum Master and Agile Coach for 7 teams. My main task was to make sure that the teams follow Scrum and Kanban principles. I was also facilitating meetings, removing impediments, introducing process optimization and new techniques to the whole company (e.g. I introduced happiness metric). I worked both with local team and distributes ones (also working in different time zones).
Senior Software Engineer
In iTraff Technology, which was a classic startup company, we were developing image recognition technology. In this company I was playing the roles of Scrum Master and main developer. This was pretty challenging as we had to deal with constantly changing market, doing pivot after pivot to make sure that our product in right for the market. This meant constantly changing requirements and priorities. This challenges taught me how to organize work of a team and how to create successful implementation of Scrum. From the development point of view I used ObjectiveC to create a number of iOS applications, C++ to implement the algorithms responsible for image recognition and Java to create REST API using Play Framework.
Academic Teacher
For 6 years I was an academic teacher responsible for laboratories on Software Engineering. During the classes I was introducing students to the topics of agile approaches to software development, project management, requirements engineering, testing, software effort estimation, UML, software architecture, etc.I must say that every year I was able to learn something new from my students as they were forcing me to look at software engineering from new points of view.
Requirements Consultant
Analyzing requirements elicited by our customer for one of his projects - preparing guidelines how requirements should be written to maximize project's quality.
Support Engineer At Ibm Eclipse Support Competence Center
I was working for IBM for almost 4 years. My role was to support IBM's customers in their problems with Eclipse-based products. In this job I was fixing bugs in Eclipse platform, debugging issues and developing new tools. Here I could learn a lot about Eclipse platform itself, about working as a support engineer and about being part of a worldwide support team.
Requirements Analyst
Eliciting functional and nonfunctional requirements together with modeling business processes for a job offering system.
Software Engineer
I was a developer responsible for creating Eclipse-based plugins for requirements elicitation tool called UC Workbench. This tool was a research project and was partially supported by IBM.
