My name is Jaleesa Hall and I am 21 years old. I live in Fort Worth, Texas and I am a senior at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. My major is Rehabilitation Studies and I plan on becoming either a substance abuse counselor or a case manager (specifically in a hospital). I have background knowledge of the healthcare field because I was once pursuing a career in Pharmacy. During my junior year in high school at Trimble Tech in Fort Worth, I did hospital rotations every other day at two local hospitals. I worked alongside patient care technicians to learn about and perform the daily tasks that are required of them. In the past, I have also done volunteer work through different organizations that I have been a member of. I chose to pursue a career in rehabilitation because of my love for helping others. I am an active listener and critical thinker which are two skills that will contribute to me being successful at a career as a substance abuse counselor or case manager. One volunteer experience that I participated in many times was playing bingo and socializing with elder at a local nursing home. This allowed me to become more social with people I did not know. My academics have always been good as well. I graduated high school with a "magna cum laude" honor and I have made the Dean’s or President’s list every semester of my college career. I am very committed to learning about what it takes to become successful in the rehabilitation field by working under professionals and learning from experience.

  I work within the Family Health & Education portion of the agency. My responsibilities include facilitating weekly kids club at two properties, giving presentations pertaining to health and nutrition, assisting in any group activities that we make available to residents, and other office type work such as designing an intake form that I am assigned to.
