Jalisa Whitley is a world-builder and experience creator. As the Founder of BOOKED Trips, an immersive book-inspired travel company, Jalisa translates stories into physical space through curated, immersive travel experiences that connect women through a shared love for storytelling. Jalisa uses tourism to bridge cultural divides, deepen connection, and tell the authentic stories of Black and brown communities around the world. Prior to this work, Ms. Whitley had been active in the nonprofit community as a professional, volunteer, and board member for over 10 years. Jalisa is passionate about connecting communities to opportunities to elevate their impact, co-create solutions, and implement sustainable change. She supports that work through her consulting company Unbound Impact which focuses on programmtic strategy, facilitation, and qualitative evaluation. The common thread throughout her work is a commitment to uplifting the imagination, possibility, and solutions that already exists in communities made vulnerable by divestment and systemic harm. Jalisa is committed to using her platform to resource, connect, and be in service of change agents working toward our collective liberation.A native of Geneva, New York, Jalisa received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology and Public Policy from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Masters of Public Policy in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park. In her spare time she enjoys reading, travel , and engaging with music, theater, and the arts.
