Highly motivated, resourceful and passionate individual seeking a position that will provide students with the knowledge and skills in order to reach their potential inside and outside of the classroom. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a strong desire and commitment to make an impact on youth who struggle with behavioral problems and encourage prosocial change in their attitudes and academic achievement.I am currently a graduating senior in the College of Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University. I am pursuing a major in Criminology and working towards a teaching certification through the state-accredited Texas Teachers program. During my time at Sam Houston I was granted the opportunity to serve on a team of interns to carry out the mission of Orphan Care Solutions. OCS is a non-profit organization that bridges the talents and desires of The Church to care for the community's "orphan/foster" population, with the needs of the foster care community (not just DFPS, but all foster care organizations, i.e, child placing agencies, non-profits like CASA, summer camp organizations, colleges, "aging out" transition programs, etc.). I have a heart for adolescents with behavioral issues and want to help them succeed academically and interpersonally. My ultimate goal is to gain as much experience working with at-risk youth, and to keep children from becoming adult offenders. I aspire to be the best me I can be and to grow continuously in my efforts to make a change in the lives of our next generation.
