Outside the office, I've turned my artistic glass hobby into a small business, forming Four Leaves Glassworks in 2019. I design, craft and sell kiln-formed glass art and teach workshops. I've continued to grow the business by developing, sourcing production, and marketing my own line of glass fusing embellishments to other glass artists. And as if all of this isn't enough, I have a growing YouTube channel of nearly 10,000 subscribers who tune in regularly to learn the art of kiln-formed glass. Leads communications function overseeing internal and external communications, including brand communications, issues management, and executive communications. Represents the company and its brands as media spokesperson in matters related to key announcements, reputational challenges and industry issues. Directs proactive public relations and issues management for 35+ regional dairy brands across the country, including the launch and subsequent media positioning of the company’s national milk brands, DairyPure and TruMoo flavored milk. Spring 2015 through Fall 2017Advanced Writing for Public Relations, a required 300-level course for communications majors. This experiential course teaches students to strategize, develop, research, and write in-depth articles, newsletters, speeches, press releases, and position papers.

Developed and implemented proactive and issues communications plan for brands, including creation of media materials and serving as brand spokesperson. Managed multiple global public relations firms with multi-million dollar budgets and liaised with global brand marketing leadership within HQ and affiliates.

Led account teams responsible for strategic planning and implementation of internal and external communications efforts. Responsibilities included media relations, media and speaker trainings, event planning and management, staffing, and collaborated on successful new business pitches.

Served on team managing media efforts for 50 Democrat House Representatives, communicating with statewide print/broadcast media daily to manage relationships and reputations of House members. Taped, edited and sent feeds of legislative sessions and individual Representative interviews to statewide broadcast media.
