The Clinical Research Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating daily activities and efforts related to cancer research projects. The individual will primarily focus on facilitating clinical research projects in areas such as precision cancer prevention, reducing health disparities, and multi-omics data analysis. This position requires a strong background in health sciences, with a preference for experience in epidemiological research capacity. Responsibilities Coordinates and assists in the conduct of epidemiological and laboratory research projects within the cancer center. Manages and analyzes medical images, facilitating image analysis of molecular pathology. Communicates effectively with staff in collaborating labs and offices. Collaborates with laboratory and core staff to develop research protocols, retrieve biospecimens and images, and conduct analyses. Ensures research studies are conducted in accordance with the study protocol and guidelines, policies, and requirements of OSU. Completes study-specific trainings. Attends study meetings and provides regular updates on study progress. Conducts scientific literature reviews and assists in drafting manuscripts. Assists in preparing documents for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission, obtaining data user agreements, budget management, data repository, and supporting regulatory documents. Conducts medical chart review and abstraction from electronic health records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with research protocols. Undertakes other administrative duties as needed. In this virtual lab, we focus on researching topics using a systematic review approach to address certain topics within medicine. The topic we have focused on so far is the trial and tribulations faced by aspiring physicians with disabilities while trying to get to medical school, while in medical school, and during residency. There are many barriers that they face that halt the progress of diversity within the medical field.

I worked with the donor recruitment team by helping to create flyers for blood drives, sending emails to possible blood drive hosts, and live registering at blood drive events.

I worked with a plethora of students from different backgrounds within the Office of Diversity and Inclusion tutoring in Biology, Anatomy, and Spanish.
