Jason is a defence specialist in FCA litigation and business related crime. Over the last twenty years Jason has acted in around 250 FCA (formerly FSA) enquiries and associated proceedings. He is currently instructed by both individual and corporate clients in respect of various regulatory investigations and proceedings, ranging from market abuse and insider dealing to alleged breaches of FCA Rules and Principles. He also acts in authorisation and supervisory cases involving representations to Executive Decision Makers and if necessary the Tribunal. Past cases include multiple investigations by the FCA and SFO concerning LIBOR and FOREX, the Standard Bank DPA and ENRC. Jason also acts in cases brought by the FRC and has an excellent record defending individuals under investigation for alleged breaches of ICAEW principles. A Barrister since 1991, Jason draws on his previous experience as a regulator, prosecutor and senior lawyer at Allen & Overy LLP to deploy the strategy and tactics necessary to achieve the best possible results for his clients. In his FCA , regulatory and criminal matters Jason is often instructed at the very outset of an enquiry, becoming an integral part of the defence team, advising in connection with strategy, document requests and interview preparation. He appears regularly before the RDC, Upper Tribunal, Crown and High Courts.
