Jamar R. Brown is a partner with Rosenberg Martin Greenberg LLP (RMG) in the firm's litigation practice group. Jamar advises and advocates for business and property owners, as well as investors, on high-stakes legal matters and defends these clients in various commercial, real estate, and contractual disputes in federal and state courts. In December 2021, Jamar was elected to the firm’s Management Committee. Prior to joining RMG, Jamar served as Assistant State’s Attorney for the Felony Trial Unit of the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City. For over three years, Jamar represented the state of Maryland in the prosecution of a wide array of criminal cases, including violent crimes, firearm violations, and offenses involving defendants designated by law enforcement as violent repeat offenders.A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Jamar competed throughout the country as a member of the National Trial Team. Upon graduation, he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national recognition for excellence in written and oral advocacy. Jamar earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University. Jamar serves as chair of the advisory board of the Open Society Institute-Baltimore. He also serves as board president of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Baltimore. Jamar also serves on the board of directors for the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Jobs Opportunities Task Force. Jamar is admitted to practice in Maryland and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
