Drove several iterations of analysis, design, prototyping, and product definition which produced “IBM Mail Next”, announced at IBM Connect 2014.- Transformed development of IBM SmartCloud Notes web client by implementing several key principles of Continuous Delivery. Implemented a fully automated build and test pipeline, saving 8 person months annually. Raised automated test coverage by 400%. Reduced elapsed time from code delivery to verified build from 48hrs to 6hrs. - Delivered major update to IBM Smartcloud Notes in August 2013, including a complete UI update, redesigned calendar, and section 508 accessibility compliance. Now delivering a cadence of weekly feature and quality updates to the service with no required outage window.

Held roles with progressively broader responsibilities comprising development, testing, deployment and support of IBM's largest individual product offering (by revenue) used by tens of thousands of customers and tens of millions of end users. Lead delivery of three major product versions and six version releases with a global team of over 200 engineers and project managers.- Drove end-to-end delivery of IBM Notes/Domino 9 Social Edition from initial concept proposal to on-time delivery in 1Q 2013. Version 9 delivered a completely revised UI theme, first-of-its-kind integration with social collaboration tools via OpenSocial integration, numerous productivity features, and a full suite of updated plugins for IBM Sametime and IBM Connections.- Designed, implemented, and lead a program to drive product quality and customer adoption of ND8.5.x which resulted in 80% of the installed base upgrading to 8.5.2 or 8.5.3 between 2009 and 2012 and a 50% reduction in problem reports.- Lead the engineering and test effort to enable Notes in the cloud with IBM LotusLive (SmartCloud)- Championed, piloted, and adopted the use of Eclipse-based java technology as the basis for Notes 8. Directed six international teams (four development/two test) comprising 70 engineers, managers, and architects in the development of an all-new mail, calendar, and contacts user interface. Notes 8 helped drive 12 consecutive quarters of revenue growth.- Delivered “What's New in Notes” sessions and demos annually from Lotusphere 2008 through IBM Connect 2013 including repeat sessions to satisfy demand.

Initiated and lead the development of IBM Workplace Messaging - rich client edition, the first end-user desktop application from IBM based on Eclipse/SWT and written in Java. Workplace Messaging provided the technical basis for the subsequent release of Notes 8.- Lead a small startup team through proof of concept then obtained approval for product concept, staffing plan, budget, and development roadmap.- Built team of 50 development and test engineers, managers, and architects in the US, Japan, China, and India and executed a very aggressive plan to deliver committed scope on schedule across three releases.- Co-authored IBM Red Paper and co-presented sessions on Workplace Messaging at Lotusphere from 2004 through 2006.

Managed development, testing, and documentation functions of IBM Enterprise Integrator, an $11m product line, consisting of two integration engines, 14 connectors, and a programming interface.- Managed team of 30 development and test engineers, and professional writers, located in the US, Japan, and China.- Implemented program management framework that resulted in a 50% improvement in on-time delivery.- Lead development of the innovative IEI version 6, including the 'advanced real-time' framework and a re-factored user interface as well as scalability and throughput increases. Held progressively more responsible roles on development and rollout of ExPRS, a large-scale, strategic project tasked to re-engineer Commercial Market claims business process and deliver three-tier distributed object technology solutions:- Senior project manager for two releases and nationwide rollout in 1998-99, delivered on time and budget. Responsible for planning, scope, schedule, and budget management, led 10 project managers and 100 engineers.- Development manager (for first release 1996-1997) of a cross-functional team of 15 engineers and analysts, responsible for development of forms and document production. First successful OO system implementation for Liberty Mutual.- Co-developed the organization, structure, and roles and responsibilities of the program along with process and tools for planning, issue management, change management, problem tracking, quality assurance, and configuration management.
