Jamauri Bogan, a former student-athlete at Western Michigan University (WMU), is recognized for his exceptional community service and leadership. In 2019, he received the Humanitarian Award at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, and Fox Sports Detroit highlighted his financial literacy and leadership class at Loy Norrix High School.While balancing his pursuits in football and an MBA, Bogan envisioned the creation of a real estate company. In 2018, he co-founded Nekton Investments, where he sharpened his skills in decision-making, capital raising, and relationship-building within the real estate industry. His consistent delivery of substantial returns to investors underscored his expertise in the field.Jamauri worked at Hollander Development from 2020 to 2024, advancing from intern to partner in a new firm called Edison Community Partners. He was integral in securing three affordable housing LIHTC awards: a 70-unit senior housing project with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a 92-unit mixed-use development in Battle Creek, and a 45-unit permanent supportive housing project for individuals in recovery.In 2020, Bogan founded Bogan Developments, a real estate development company committed to making a profound impact by building inclusive communities. These communities are designed to provide access to elite education, affordable housing, and opportunities for individuals to pursue their dreams. In 2023, Bogan Developments completed a $4.5 million new construction project that includes an early learning center in partnership with the YMCA and workforce housing. The project was placed in service in December 2023 and is fully leased.Currently, Bogan Developments is advancing Phase II of Zone 32 and exploring numerous other opportunities throughout Michigan.Beyond his professional work, Jamauri Bogan actively serves on the boards of Community Homeworks, the Western Michigan University Real Estate Committee and Athletic Board, and The Foundation for Excellence. His remarkable achievements and contributions were recognized with the inaugural Chamber’s Choice Alumnus of the Year Award in 2022 and the Haworth College of Business Emerging Leader Alumni Award in 2023.
