About Jamerson W.

For the past 25 years, Jamerson has worked to end all forms of violence and injustice, with a particular emphasis on gender-based violence. A native of Austin, TX, Jamerson examines the connection between a rape culture, one that normalizes violence against women, and masculinity. Jamerson began his work as a Sexual Assault Prevention Educator with the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center in San Marcos, TX. He's worked in various capacities to combat gender-based violence including community organizing, rape crisis counseling, youth violence prevention, abuser intervention services, housing justice, training & technical assistance, and program management. Currently, Jamerson works as trainer, coach, and consultant with Liberation In Action, providing technical support across an array of issues, including homelessness and housing instability, food insecurity, and domestic violence data strategy development. He is also enrolled in a dual master's program, pursuing a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master of Social Work (MSW).
