In my capacity as Senior VP and US Controller, I was the Divisional Finance Leader accountable to Corporate HQ leadership, responsible for the end-to-end finance and accounting functions, with ownership for developing the accounting and shared services teams for the $1.1bn US operating segment. I managed and developed solutions for all aspects of month-end close, revenue recognition, cost accounting, credit and collections, billing and disbursements, promotions tracking, inventory cost and control, system administration and monitoring business results. In addition, contributed to SEC reporting, Board, investor and earnings presentations, while providing strategic insights regarding business results, accounting issues, external audits and treasury / cash flow management. Prepared forecasts and provided insights into cost of sales variances, monitored standard cost models and developed mechanisms to deliver purchase price variances and manufacturing overhead. Most notably:- Stabilized the control environment and implemented process and organizational efficiencies to deliver 24% operating cost savings, 18% reduction in headcount, and 30% decrease in days to close.- Led completion of internal accounting review, related SEC investigations, and external audits for 2016, 2017 and 2018 fiscal year-ends.- Implemented new internal control policies and SOX standards to resolve previous issues and remediate deficiencies and material weaknesses in the US group, resulting in achieving 100% SOX compliance.- Reviewed and restructured close and reporting process to deliver a timetable for delivery of month, quarter and year-end results

During this period, I led global corporate accounting functions encompassing SEC and other external reporting, corporate accounting close, control and consolidation, financial systems administration, and accounting policy and SOX libraries. Provided leadership and direction for a global-matrixed financial reporting organization and a local team of 35 with 4 direct reports and represented the finance function at Board Audit Committee sessions. In addition, managed and reviewed the preparation of complex global consolidation including sub-consolidations, currency translation and cash flow statements, 10K/10Q and related MDNA analysis, and earnings calls materials. Most Notably:- Delivered 20% savings by completing a business-critical finance system project to implement Hyperion HFM to support over 90 business units and 300 P&Ls across 33 countries and currencies.- Led integration activities for over 20 acquisitions with accountability for overseeing valuations, allocating purchase price, evaluating opening balance sheets, and onboarding for global financial reporting.

I was initially recruited as Director of Accounting for the USA before being promoted to the position of VP Finance / North America Group Controller in 2004. I managed a cross-functional team of over 90 and implemented robust performance management frameworks to drive continuous improvement for the finance division in North America. Most notably:- Led accounting integration activities (purchase price allocations, framework for consolidation of accounts and equity accounting for subsequent legal entity reorganizations) for $1.1bn MPS and $1.4bn Olsten acquisitions.- Delivered significant $multi-million annual cost savings by leading finance integration initiatives to consolidate functions across the US and Canada.- Developed and maintained 100 entity consolidation, business analysis and reporting materials for Board and external analysts resulting in more simplified financial reporting and improved transparency of business results.- Automated and scaled transaction processes for expense reimbursements, accounts payable processing, and incentive compensation including vendor selection, system analysis, design and integration.
