Promoted to lead the development of corporate commercialisation strategy and planning of downstream execution for all brand and trade activities within Japan, PMI’s largest market globally. In this role I acted as the key link between our sales and marketing functions to ensure annual volume, share and operating profit targets were achieved. In this role I provided governance on strategic long range planning, led large cross functional multi-million dollar projects through a team comprising of 25 local Japanese and international assignees.• Expanded our retail brand presence from 3% national coverage to over 70% in three years through new contractual arrangements with major retailers 7-11, Lawson & Family Mart;• Despite an expanded deployment footprint, drove a >10% reduction in annual operational trade spending;• Led the successful divestment of our vending machine business that resulted in a US$ 85mio annual saving;• Successfully launched over 25 new products over 6 year period that in 2016 culminated in the achievement of a record high corporate market share and operating profit.

Selected as one of ten members globally for a new strategic project group tasked with delivering a major corporate trade strategy reform to address growing trade spend and declining ROI.
