Employed by the Memphis Police Department since 1983. Worked as a patrolman for 13 years in uniform patrol across the city. Promoted to Sergeant in 1996, assignments included, Felony Response Bureau, General Assignment Bureau, Burglary Bureau, and the FBI Auto Cargo Task Force. Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2000. Assigned to numerous precincts as a shift supervisor. Assigned to the Felony Response Bureau for one year as an evening shift supervisor. Promoted to the rank of Major in 2008 to the present, currently assigned to Raines Station. Assigned to uniform patrol in various precincts as a shift commander. Worked out of rank as an Executive Commander for Airways Station. Duties were assisting the precinct Commander in administration of a precinct, consisting of approximately 130 Patrolman,20 Lieutenants, and 3 Majors.Enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve in 1986 in the Port Security Rate. Worked to complete qualifications in Facility Inspection, Pollution Investigation, Maritime Transportation Security Act, Maritime Law Enforcement, 25ft Response Boat Coxswain. Worked to enforce the Code of Federal Regulations in the maritime environment. Called to active duty seven times since 2001. Assigned to Sector Lower Mississippi River for reserve drills. Experience in Maritime Law Enforcement at the Tactical Law Enforcement Team South in Miami. Deployed to NATO ships conducting counter narcotics patrols in the southern Caribbean. Activated for the Deepwater Horizon Spill three times. Most recently on Active Duty assigned to the Incident Management Team, New Orleans in the Environmental Section as a USCG Environmental Liaison, Aug 2012 to Feb 2013. Experience with environmental regulations such as the Endangered Species Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Familiar with the Code of Federal Regulations in enforcement of Federal safety and security regulations. Worked on the initial implementation of the Maritime Transportation Security Act.
