Trans Matters is connecting the trans population to what matters: Jobs, Resources, Community, Support, News, Media, Stories & More. We help transgender people find available jobs with employers that have made a commitment to diversity & inclusion. Responsible for: Website & Social Media: Website development, website management, writing website content, social media management. Trans Job Connect: Directing operational workflow, searching multiple job boards and employment pages seeking transgender affirming employment listings currently hiring, transposing information about the company and position into a spreadsheet for online publication, following up with clients via email, reviewing resumes and sending over resume advice and tips to clients in order to advance their chances of obtaining employment. Recruiting and training volunteers for daily work flow such as processing client assistance intakes.Trans Matters Now: Seeking out news and current events in the global transgender community in order to share to Trans Matters FB Page followers. Moderating online community chat and support group spaces connecting to Trans Matter FB Page. Researching and writing educational pieces for topics related to parenting while trans, gender neutral parenting, volunteerism, advocacy, etc.

Interim LGBTQIA Housing Program Manager

Responsible for networking, locating, and recruiting host home sponsors or foster families for temporary safe housing for homeless or abused transgender youth & young adults up to 25. Works alongside volunteers, partner organizations, and other activists connecting clients to resources for trans affirming healthcare, support group meetings, rehabilitation centers, treatment facilities, and more. Involved in creating the information spreadsheets for resource database. Maintain open communication with volunteers and clients served. Facilitate online social media platform for communication between volunteers, sponsors, and clients in need. Created new recruit training for volunteers and advocates. Facilitate online training webinars. Helped to create web content, email newsletters, client educational content, and webinar presentations for virtual group activities. Responsible for outlining, planning, and strategizing for new projects, programs, and events related to inTRANSition projects and services.

Overseeing the following Programs:• Trans Employment Project: Created this project as a way to connect trans individuals with inclusive employers currently hiring in their area, or remote work from home positions they are qualified for to improve quality of life and reduce unemployment and underemployment in the transgender population nationwide. TEP adopted this project as a program and expanded the services to include resume assistance offered by a volunteer and former corporate recruiter.• TransMentoring: Program for transgender people of any age, that needs guidance, support, and mentoring from an more experience, grounded trans individual that can assist them in goal planning, strategizing, life organization, support and encouragement to reach goals.• inTRANSition: Program for clients ages 18-25, to seek shelter in a host home program through a partner or affiliate program near them, or placement with our host home sponsor volunteers. To assist the clients in escaping from a dangerous, non-supportive, homeless, or displaced situation.• Name/Gender Change: Program for documentation assistance by state/county for name and gender change processes, as well as referral to our partner organizations for direct financial assistance.• TEP Assistance: General assistance provided for clothing, hrt, food, shoes, toiletries, and third party resource referral for things like medical providers, mental health professionals, hair stylists, support groups, etc.

Responsible for handling incoming calls ranging from severity in intensity from crisis level, to calls simply to relieve isolation. Responsible for documenting and categorizing each call accurately, abiding by Good Samaritan and HIPPA laws. Responsible for completing 32 hour accredited advocacy training with a certificate of completion. Connecting callers to trans affirming resources related to various aspects of improving well being such as health care providers, SOFFA meetings, local and national housing programs that are transgender affirming.

Responsible for outbound warm call follow-up for product information and sale confirmation. Responsible for signing up clients for Medicaid approved health aids, back braces, pain relievers, wellness creams, dietary aides, and other products.

Responsible for advertising and recruiting clients for potentially on going customer base. Managed 12 households on weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis depending upon client needs. Responsible for detailed cleaning, maintenance cleaning, light duty lawn care, touch-up painting, windows, moving cleans, and construction cleans.

Provided bedside care. Administered medications and documented therapeutic effects. Measured vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration). Assisted with resident comfort. Prepared and administer injections/ enemas. Inserted, collected samples from, monitored, and discontinued IV's, urinary catheters, rectal tubes, and nasogastric tubes. Monitored patient's blood glucose levels and documented findings and any treatments. Provided wound care and dressing changes per physician's order. Reported necessary details to RN. Responsible for proctering and instructing practical nursing students, reporting their daily outcome to head instructor. Responsible for training newly hired licensed practical nurses to the cardiac post surgical unit. Responsible for the monitoring of wound vacs and recording daily input and output.
