Learned quickly that finance back office was in disarray. Re-focused demoralized Accounting team on finishing 8+ month-old financial and A-133 audit for organization's FY '13. Began parallel effort to create annual operating budget without benefit of intelligible or comprehensible prior years' actuals. Finished FY '13 audit and immediately began installing new accounting software system (Deltek). Went live July 1, 2014 after only six week implementation period, with limited outside help. Finished bottom-up, highly integrated, ~40 tab budget model for FY 2015 board approval. That was the first six months.Completed software implementation; including cloud-base, integrated timekeeping system; trained approximately 20 project managers to take ownership of public (HUD, two counties, and various cities) and private grants. Defined cost accounting structure for entire organization that is consistent and in compliance with GAAP and A-122. Project managers now receive monthly cost reports, full labor detail (hours by project by employee by pay period), facility operating costs at each of IVSN's fifteen locations, Corporate administrative costs, billing, and revenue for approximately 100 individual projects. Reports include month, YTD, total costs, budget, backlog, labor and non-labor detail. Allocations of Operating and Admin costs to each project in compliance with A-122. Rationalized and streamlined job costing and billing.On-boarded replacement CFO and a Controller. Fine-tuned Deltek implementation, trained staff. Ready for next challenge. -
