• Process Controls and Automation– Process Controls and automation of Utility Boilers and Plant load demands.o Designs, implements, commissions, and provides tunings and startup support for all controls loops in power plants, Cogen boilers, Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), and balance of plant (BOP).o Performs PID tuning – Realtime- for different control schemes (feedback, cascade, ratio, feedforward) and model based multivariable controls methodologies.o Performs Realtime tuning for several control loops at power plants.o Conducts overall units indexing and linearization of processes and demand for controlled equipment and devices.o Tunes overall power plant units for stability and maneuverability while meeting market demands for electricity, such as low load operations and faster ramp rates.o Designs, configures, commissions, tests, and tune plants power generation controls to comfortably sustain primary frequency response as per NERC MOD 27 requirements for droop and dead band.o Develops controls narratives, based on active control logic and vice versa.o Maintains, troubleshoots, responds to process controls emergencies, and manage change of control schemes.o Acts as a subject matter expert and point of contact in boiler controls and all process controls function for the organization (North America).o Participates in organization’s standards team in charge of process controls strategies for boilers and balance of plants.o Implements, commissions and provide startup support for all types of BMS – Utility boilers (gas, oil, coal, and blended fuels), and HRSG’s Duct burners.o Maintains troubleshoot and manage changes made to BMS.o Ensures BMS logic and electrical wiring meet NFPA Code 85.o Conducts functional and interlock checks of BMS and its equipment.
