With over 25 years of experience in public safety and security, I am a recognized expert in K-12 school-based policing and security. I have a Master of Arts in Justice Administration from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wake Forest University. I have extensive experience in critical incident management, employee development, and building diverse teams to accomplish innovative goals.As the Director of School Security at Anne Arundel County Public Schools, I am responsible for developing and managing school security and all-hazard safety programs for the nation's 39th-largest K-12 school district. I oversee security training, equipment, and crisis and emergency planning implementation, affecting over 10,000 employees and 86,000 students in 135 school buildings and satellite offices. I serve as the Superintendent's representative on security and emergency management matters in daily liaison with police, fire, military, and governmental emergency management personnel. I also manage multi-million operating and capital budgets and provide court testimony supporting criminal and civil matters. I aim to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
