I am a Technical Director in Social Outcomes, based in Birmingham (UK). A senior leader in a dynamic and dedicated team of social development and stakeholder engagement professionals in one of the UK’s largest independent employee-owned consultancies. I work with my clients to deliver more inclusive and more socially sustainable outcomes by challenging them to think differently about how they deliver their projects. I provide technical leadership to teams, working to successfully deliver inclusive outcomes on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas. My work includes developing and overseeing qualitative and quantitative methodologies for social evaluation, appraisal and impact assessment to build understanding of and help to deliver social impact, social value and community benefit, and to understand and plan for the potential adverse effects of development. I direct research projects and oversee a team of technical specialists, project managers and early career professionals, taking overall responsibility for resources, budgets, staff and expertise to ensure the best results. I formulate, shape and guide policy and strategy research in the fields of transport and infrastructure delivery, social development, inclusive growth and regeneration, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), disability and accessibility, healthcare systems planning and infrastructure, and housing development and renewal. I am also responsible for planning and overseeing stakeholder engagement, consultation, beneficiary research, participatory workshops and focus groups. I oversee and guide the analysis, synthesis and reporting of research findings to provide detailed but accessible client outputs.
